We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join the busy team responsible for Oriel, a joint venture between Moorfields Eye Hospital, the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and Moorfields Eye Charity to create a new, purpose‑built centre of excellence for eye care, research and education. The centre will relocate all services from Moorfields Eye Hospital on City Road and UCL IoO on Bath Street to the new integrated centre in St Pancras, Camden, scheduled to open in 2027. The role will be employed by Moorfields as the partner host for the programme and will report directly to the Directors of Operational Change.
Responsibilities
- Lead the operational commissioning of the new centre, ensuring it is fully ready to function safely, efficiently and compliantly before opening. This includes coordinating the development of the operational commissioning master plan, overseeing accreditation, compliance and regulation of equipment and services, and undertaking readiness reviews with external partners such as government and the New Hospitals Programme.
- Coordinate quality and safety initiatives: updating policies and procedures, emergency preparedness, business continuity planning, and infection control.
- Develop staff orientation, induction and familiarisation plans, organise simulations, and manage staff and patient communications.
- Manage the relocation workstream, working with a specialist relocation firm to plan moves with minimal disruption to clinical activity. Responsibilities include developing detailed move plans, readiness and go/no‑go planning, and coordinating relocation to the nearby corporate administration hub.
