Job Overview
Reporting to the head of communications, this role will deliver key strategically important events across the trust. The post holder will manage the end‑to‑end delivery of a portfolio of corporate events that inspire staff, help us share best practice, educate colleagues and uphold our reputation as a world‑leading hospital.
Responsibilities include event logistics, collateral management, large event budgets, briefing senior executives, engaging communications, and evaluation of event impact.
The Events This Role Will Deliver:
- Moorfields Stars – trust’s annual flagship staff recognition awards
- Annual General Meeting
- Annual all staff mandatory governance half day
- Annual Moorfields Nursing Conference
- External visits from strategic partners (research, state, commercial organisations)
- VIP and media visits with the wider communications team
You Will:
- Think strategically in planning and delivering events that align with and support the trust’s objectives.
- Prioritise and manage multiple event deliverables, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Lead decision‑making, problem‑solving and team management to ensure every event is executed efficiently and professionally.
- Oversee all aspects of event planning, including venue selection, logistics, catering and entertainment, ensuring all selections follow the Trust’s procurement process.
- Manage event finances, optimise resources and ensure all spending aligns with strategic goals.
- Be a central point of contact for strategic event planning within the Trust to provide advice, support and guidance.
- Work with the strategy and partnerships team to develop and deliver a cohesive plan for managing strategic relationships that maximise opportunities for Moorfields and partners.
- Maintain a partnerships database to ensure information is accurate, up‑to‑date and shared throughout Moorfields and internal partners.
- Research and utilise CRM tools to support activities.
- Conduct research and market mapping to identify, assess and prioritise strategic partnership opportunities to develop mutually beneficial relationships.
Person Specification
Experience
- Essential criteria: Experience managing and implementing large‑scale, high‑profile and strategic events; Highly experienced with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Maintaining effective relationships with organisational leadership; Venue booking, liaison and supplier management; Budget management.
- Desirable criteria: Experience of using design software including InDesign, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro or similar; Experience of working in an events management and/or communications environment.
Skills And Abilities
- Essential criteria: Strong leadership skills to coordinate and facilitate activities with colleagues, senior leaders, patients and volunteers; Well organised with excellent attention to detail and ability to multi‑task.
- Desirable criteria: Able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Education
- Essential criteria: Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
- Desirable criteria: Project management qualification (e.g., Prince2).
