The post holder will assist with the delivery of the ophthalmic services at Moorfields at Ealing Hospital based in North West London. The role facilitates the provision of excellent nursing care and works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include ensuring the effective running of the service of out-patients and AMD treatments, promoting dignity and human rights through person‑centric care principles.

The position holder will assist in ophthalmic services such as cataract, glaucoma, external intravitreal injection and Daycare. Duties include admission, assessment, planning, implementation and discharge of patients; history taking and requesting agreed diagnostic procedures; evidence‑based nursing practice across services as required; and supporting the Sister with leadership and management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • PGCert in Ophthalmology or working towards it
  • Minimum 1 year working experience as a Band 5 RN
  • Able to work in outpatient and daycare settings
  • Desirable: Able to administer intravitreal injections
  • Desirable: Mentoring students and teaching juniors
