Job Overview We are seeking a Theatre Senior Scrub Nurse for a fixed 1‑year contract.
The successful candidate will be based at Northwick Park, with expected coverage of our Ealing or Potters Bar network sites as required.
Responsibilities
- Assessment, planning, and provision of specialist ophthalmic nursing advice.
- Carry out specialist nursing procedures in scrub and provide care/support in the clinical OPD setting as part of the perioperative pathway.
- Supervise junior staff and students, undertake research and lead clinical audits in your specialist area.
- Ensure the safety and well‑being of patients, promoting dignity and human rights through person‑centred care principles.
- Provide effective operational supervision of the department, including budgetary awareness, clinical governance, staff development and training.
- Provide professional leadership within the clinical area, inspiring and directing multidisciplinary team members.
- Develop protocols, guidelines and patient information.

Education / Qualifications
- Registered Nurse Level 1 (Adult)
- Relevant clinical post‑registration ophthalmic qualification or extensive ophthalmic experience
Desirable qualifications
- Recognised Clinical Teaching Qualification

- Relevant recent clinical experience
- Experience in delivering Evidence Based Practice
- Demonstrate commitment to act as a preceptor/facilitator
- Experience teaching others and responding to learning needs
