We are recruiting for two posts of Senior Robotic Scientist. The post holder will coordinate and complete the development of an endo‑illuminator component of a concentric tube robot, and finalize its technical file for first in‑human evaluation. This work includes continuing the design, experimental validation, and ensuring compliance with clinical safety and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and complete the development of an endo‑illuminator part of a concentric tube robot.
  • Finalize the technical file for first in human evaluation.
  • Continue design and experimental validation into a system that satisfies clinical safety norms.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations under the Health & Safety at Work Act (1974).
  • Comply with Trusts Information Governance Policy and related security policies.
  • Adhere to safeguarding, equal opportunities, no‑smoking and infection control policies.
  • Meet pre‑employment health screening requirements and infection control training.
  • Ensure equipment used by patients is properly cleaned and decontaminated.

Education / Qualifications

  • PhD level in robotics.

Experience

  • Design and evaluation of robotic systems.

Desirable Experience

  • Medical robotic applications.

  • Ability to work within an academic team environment.
