Moorfields Eye Hospital invites applications for the post of Outpatient Clinic Coordinator at Moorfields at Stratford and Barking for a fixed 12‑month term. PLEASE NOTE, THIS POST IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR VISA SPONSORSHIP.
The post requires hours covering administrative duties from 08:00‑16:00, 09:00‑17:00, or 10:00‑18:00.
Responsibilities- Reception duties: meet and greet patients on arrival, check patients into the appropriate clinics using the Trust’s patient administration system, book clinic appointments, and record patient data accurately.
- Additional administrative duties: ensure clinics are booked to profile, prepare patient notes, answer queries by telephone or in person, file, scan, and book patient transport, and support the Assistant Clinic Manager with clinic cancellations.
- Provide effective clinic management, reduce over‑booking, and ensure a positive experience for patients.
- Adhere to Key Performance Indicators for data quality, provide exception reports where data quality is not met.
- Respond to telephone enquiries from patients and staff promptly and professionally.
- Respond accurately to patient queries regarding their treatment pathway, explaining in simple terms and referring to relevant colleagues as required.
- Arrange transport bookings for patients as necessary.
- Essential Criteria: Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software. Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality issues.
- Desirable Criteria: Previous experience using Trust IT systems such as PAS, OpenEyes, and Medisoft.
- Essential Criteria: Previous experience carrying out administrative duties and working with the general public in a customer‑orientated role.
- Desirable Criteria: Previous experience within a health care setting.
- Essential Criteria: Educated to GCSE level (including English and Maths to GCSE A‑C), or equivalent qualifications.
- Desirable Criteria: Willingness to undertake further training and development in the role.
