The Digital Project Support Officer will work as part of the ICT and Smart Services delivery team, helping coordinate projects that underpin Oriel’s transition from a newly constructed building into a smart‑ready, digitally mature hospital. This includes supporting work across digital infrastructure, smart building systems, user‑facing digital services and the governance needed to safely move from construction into live operation.
Main duties of the job include:
- Providing structured support across a portfolio of ICT and Smart Services projects that form part of the Oriel programme.
- Coordinating activities that enable digital infrastructure, smart building integrations, user‑facing systems and associated governance processes.
- Supporting planning, documentation, RAID management, reporting and stakeholder coordination.
- Tracking interdependencies across infrastructure, smart building and smart services workstreams.
- Preparing board‑level updates and ensuring accurate recording of decisions, actions and risks.
- Translating complex digital and technical activity into clear, structured information.

The Digital Project Support Officer will support the delivery of ICT, Smart Building and Smart Services activity across the Oriel programme, helping ensure digital systems, integrations and governance processes are delivered in line with programme milestones and readiness requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting Project Managers with the development and maintenance of project plans, schedules, risk, issue and dependency logs.
- Ensuring accurate and timely reporting to programme boards and governance forums.
- Coordinating meetings, workshops and engagement sessions with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Managing and tracking project documentation produced during the construction and delivery phases.
- Maintaining clear audit trails and supporting assurance, readiness and handover into live operation.
Essential criteria for education and qualifications include:
- Degree, or equivalent relevant level of experience
- Relevant delivery management qualification, or equivalent experience (Agile, PRINCE2, etc)
Experience required includes:
- Experience in delivering projects, business change, or service improvement work
- Experience in creating, updating, managing and monitoring plans
- Awareness of good financial management practices for project delivery
