Join our Refractive Laser team during an exciting period as we prepare for our brand-new Oriel site near King’s Cross in 2027. Moorfields Private works closely with Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, ensuring NHS contracts and robust governance for your safety and support.
Main Duties- Work in accordance with standards set by your registered professional body.
- Take charge of the department in the absence of the person holding continuing responsibility.
- Follow MEH policies and procedures.
- Participate in the clinical management of patients.
- Coordinate patients’ discharge arrangements in line with MEH discharge policy.
- Maintain the smooth operation of the laser suite daily, calibrating the laser equipment and reporting any anomalies to senior staff.
- Support the clinician during refractive laser procedures, adopting sterile procedures and monitoring safe stock control levels.
- Assist in coordinating Refractive Laser bookings, liaising with Practice Managers and Consultants in the absence of the clinical lead.
- Facilitate and support junior team members to develop competence and skills, enabling them to become competent practitioners.

- Registered Ophthalmic qualification (essential)
- Registered General Nurse (essential)
- Recognised clinical teaching qualification (desirable)
- Ability to work independently and autonomously (essential)
- Competence in a range of ophthalmic skills (essential)
- Evidence of teaching/coaching skills (desirable)
- Experience working with refractive lasers (essential)
- Significant relevant clinical experience (essential)
- Experience of working in the private healthcare sector (desirable)
