Head of Delivery

Moorfields Private, the private patient division of Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, seeks a Head of Delivery to join the Senior Leadership Team.

The role will lead the day‑to‑day operational delivery across the Moorfields Private Outpatient Centre (City Road) and Moorfields Private Eye Centre (New Cavendish Street).

The Head of Delivery reports to the Director of Private Care and is accountable for performance, governance, workforce and budget of the delivery function, with the Head of Nursing and other operational functions reporting into the portfolio.

Job Overview

As a pivotal time for Moorfields Private, you will play a key role in delivering a three‑year strategy to grow volume and profit.

Core responsibilities include growing theatre, laser, outpatient and ward revenues, developing flexible workforce models and supporting the organisation through its planned move to a brand‑new hospital site.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective, high‑quality operational delivery across all private facilities.
  • Act as the primary client representative, overseeing delivery partners and managing relationships to maintain service performance.
  • Resolve operational issues, providing solutions that support strategic private and NHS objectives.
  • Direct and manage the delivery and performance of clinical, administration and support services across inpatient and outpatient sites.
  • Promote and deliver business growth in alignment with the private business strategy.
  • Provide strong leadership, robust governance and drive continuous improvement, ensuring services are safe, efficient and aligned with NHS values.

Person Specification

Education & Qualifications

  • Master’s level education or equivalent level with evidence of recent and relevant continuing professional development.
  • Professional leadership/management qualification.
  • Knowledge
  • In-depth knowledge of integrated service planning in complex organisations, including data analysis, synthesis and scenario planning.
  • Knowledge of Compucare 8 is desirable.

Experience

  • Proven ability to manage highly complex and difficult situations with frequent conflict.
  • Substantial change‑management capability with measurable, positive cultural outcomes.
  • Desirable: track record of successful organisation‑wide project management, including SRO/sponsor or programme delivery of formal change initiatives.
  • Other Requirements
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK, satisfactory DBS disclosure and two references.
  • No visa sponsorship unless stated explicitly.
