This is a key role in the data standard team within the Performance & Information department of Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, ensuring high levels of information standards by providing support to data assurance. The role requires skills and competencies to plan and decide on matters that have far-reaching consequences in the Trust’s data quality assurance framework, including monitoring processes and delivery systems/tools. The post holder will jointly maintain the Trust’s data quality assurance framework with the Data Quality & RA Manager, and will need a highly analytical mindset with the ability to communicate complex issues to a wide variety of internal and external audiences. The post holder will work closely with the Data Quality/RA Manager as a deputy, leading and motivating staff under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Lead monitoring of the Trust performance against national & local targets and ensure robust processes throughout the year, providing assurance to senior management through audit reporting.
- Participate in relevant internal and external working groups to provide advice and support, and maintain data quality monitoring systems for effective use.
- Contribute to the formulation and planning of strategies for the Data Quality Audit function, liaising with colleagues from other professions and disciplines to create and amend plans and audit programmes that may affect various departments.
- Provide accurate, timely and well‑presented audit reports and analyses to support Trust Board reporting and Trust Executive meetings; jointly lead on maintaining the Data Quality/RA Audit Programme and take lead on indicators and reporting of audits.
- Support the establishment of Data Quality Best Practice standards and interpretation, ensuring best practice is maintained throughout the organisation.
- Serve as the core contact and liaison person between the Trust and the National Service Desk team regarding Data Quality issues.
- Maintain and review all Data Quality reporting processes to ensure they are kept up to date at all times.
- Deputise for the DQ Manager at meetings held both internally and externally to the Trust.
- Provide cross‑cover support for the DQ team in times of absence.
- Lead the GP rejection process, ensuring Docman Hub and NHS.net are used accurately and all rejections are dealt with appropriately.
- Deliver National Register of Deceased patient reports to DQ support officers to ensure accurate and up‑to‑date data is within local systems.
- Support and lead DQ Projects within the Trust.
- Order stationery using the Trust e‑procurement system for the P&I department.
Qualifications
- Educated to Degree Level or equivalent.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Experience
- Experience of data quality and data validation.
- Experience in the RA function within a Trust.
