Our M&A Tax Team (part of our wider Corporate & Business Tax Team) is now looking for an M&A Tax Manager to join this exciting and growing department.

The right candidate will work alongside partners and directors to provide bespoke tax advice to clients in respect of a wide range of corporate transactions.

The team is currently top heavy with vast experience across one director and three partners who spend significant amounts of their time servicing the M&A needs of the firm’s clients.

They are supported by specialist and junior resources from our wider team.

Our immediate recruitment need arises from servicing growth we have already achieved whilst also committing to our objective of growing this service line substantially; we have no shortage of quality work and opportunities.

The M&A Tax Team advises across all areas of transaction tax.

Our clients are primarily owner‑managed businesses and their shareholders, although we are increasingly winning and delivering work involving institutional buyers and investors.

Deal sizes range from circa £5 m to over £100 m, many deals falling in the £15 m to £50 m value range from both sell‑side advisory and buy‑side due diligence perspectives.

Our work comes primarily from direct referrals from ex/current clients, intermediaries and from our own in‑house Corporate Finance team.

One major route to market is to partner with our Corporate Finance team and provide an offering that, while not unique, is very compelling in our market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre‑sale support and tax restructuring
  • Buy‑side due diligence for acquisitions and lending reviews
  • Transaction tax support and structuring advice to vendors on sale mandates
  • Post‑sale integration, group rationalisation exercises, etc.

We do all this work on a daily basis. The team sees every deal from start to finish and advises on every aspect.

Our team prides itself on technical ability and commercial drive to deliver for clients.

We adhere to the highest professional standards and do not undertake any work or planning which we do not believe is in our client’s interest or contravenes the letter or spirit of law or regulations imposed by regulators.
