We are looking for a talented and driven Litigation Lawyer to join our growing dispute resolution team. You will handle a varied caseload, acting on behalf of businesses and individuals on a range of litigation matters and play an active role in supporting clients through complex disputes which will include:
- Managing a caseload of civil and commercial litigation files including: company commercial director/shareholder disputes, business partnership disputes, breach of contract, commercial and residential property claims, ToLATA, boundary/neighbour disputes, private nuisance, harassment and defamation, will/inheritance disputes, professional negligence claims, debt recovery, possession and insolvency claims, from instruction through to resolution.
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents, including particulars of claim, defences, disclosure, witness statements etc through to settlement agreements.
- Conducting advocacy in appropriate hearings (where rights of audience permit) and instructing counsel when necessary.
- Advising clients on dispute resolution strategies, including negotiation, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
- Ensuring compliance with the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and relevant court deadlines.
- Maintaining accurate file management in line with regulatory and firm requirements.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships including networking and attending business sponsored or organised events as required.
The Person
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with a current practising certificate issued by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and/or Chartered Legal Executive Litigator (Civil Litigation) or CILEX Lawyer.
- Potentially two posts available, one more senior position with minimum 5-6 years PQE and one with a minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) in litigation.
- Strong knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and litigation processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and mentor and support junior members of the team.
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach.
- Commitment to maintaining high professional and ethical standards in line with SRA/CILEX Codes of Conduct.
