The predicted salary is between 28800 - 48000 £ per year.

We are looking for a tax consultant to join our exciting and growing department. You will be required to drive the delivery of personal and corporate tax advisory work, including writing reports and leading discussions with prospective and existing clients.

This is a key role within the team, where you will be client facing and required to deal credibly and professionally with high net-worth clients and other professional advisors. As such, excellent technical skills are crucial; equally crucial will be your ability to impart complex tax technical information to non-experts.

You will need to proactively manage the delivery of your case load and consult with your colleagues and team leads to deliver high quality outcomes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide support to partners and directors in the effective running of the team and in winning new work
  • Driving the delivery of technical advisory work on the portfolio
  • Dealing with one off advisory and compliance assignments
  • A key point of contact for the client
  • Dealing with partnerships and high net worth individuals
  • Dealing with a wide range of capital gains tax issues
  • Ability to produce written work to a high standard
  • Make suggestions and implement changes in order to improve efficiency within the team

Skills, Knowledge &Expertise

The candidate should have experience in advising on a wide range of tax issues which should ideally include the following areas:

Technical Expertise:

  • CTA Qualified, or other professional qualification and demonstrable relevant experience
  • Advanced understanding of core private client tax issues, including anti-avoidance legislation
  • Confidently interacts with HMRCregarding complex issues on behalf of clients
  • Delivers advice confidently in transactional, litigious, or confrontational circumstances
  • Reporting on tax and other implications of incorporation or restructuring of self-employment and businesses
  • Demonstrable experience of report writing and ad hoc advisory work
  • Planning for mitigation of Inheritance Tax including use of trusts and tax effect of lifetime transfers
  • Dealing with enquiries into all aspects of direct taxation including experience of settlement and penalty negotiation

Client Experience:

  • Private clients and proprietors of owner managed businesses (self-employed, partnerships and small companies)
  • UK and non-UKbased high net worth individuals
  • Property owning clients using corporate vehicles and trusts

Business Building:

  • Leads discussions with prospective and existing clients, proposals and presentations on tax issues
  • Can evidence referral of non-tax work to other parts of the business
  • Maintains own target list and can evidence targeting actions, plans and results
  • Proactively approaches clients and contacts with ideas and possible opportunities

Delivery:

  • Takes responsibility for WIP management and billing
  • Meets all internal and client deadlines

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Motivates and enthuses the team to follow the Firm\’s policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills, both written, verbal and presentation
  • Ability to \”see the bigger picture\” and acts in the interests of the Firm and the team
