Minimum Requirements:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA)
- Background working in an accountancy practice
- Proven experience of working on statutory audit assignments at audit senior level and leading on site audit teams
- Experience of preparing/reviewing statutory financial statements including disclosure requirements
- Experience of planning audit assignments including carrying out risk assessments
- Experience of supervising more junior staff to include reviewing work and giving feedback
- Ability to manage projects and teams and to work to tight deadlines
- A good working knowledge of FRS102 (including disclosure requirements), applicable company law and International Standards of Auditing (UK)
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel to and from client sites as and when required
- Experience in the preparation of audit exempt company accounts, partnership accounts and sole trader accounts from client accounting records
- Experience in the use of preparing financial statements using an accounts production software package
- Involvement in the planning and oversight of group audits
- Experience of the use of data analytics on audit assignments
- Experience of carrying out audits in the charity sector and knowledge of the Charities SORP
- Working knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Regulations
- Experience of preparation of corporation tax computations and returns
- Experience of preparation of self assessment tax returns
Responsibilities Include:
- Leading on site audit teams to include being the main point of contact with the client while on site and supervision and training of junior staff, reviewing their work and providing feedback
- Planning of audit assignments in conjunction with the audit manager and partner
- Completion of audit files in accordance with the Firm's methodology for presentation to the audit manager for review
- Preparation and review of statutory financial statements including the completion of all disclosure requirements
- Liaising directly with clients and ensuring that client expectations are met
- Staying updated with developments in auditing and accounting standards
- Assisting other departments within the firm on ad hoc basis as and when required
