The Role:
As an Audit Manager at Moore Scarrott Group, you will play a key role in overseeing audit engagements for a diverse range of clients. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, fieldwork and completion of audit assignments alongside a team of audit juniors and seniors. Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while delivering exceptional client service for all our clients is your responsibility.
This role is suited to someone who is fully qualified ACA/ACCA qualification, with a keen eye for detail, strong technical expertise, and the ability to build trusted client relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Lead audit engagements from initial planning through to completion, ensuring compliance with ISAs and regulatory standards.
- Prepare and review audit plans, focusing on risk assessment and effective audit approaches.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing communications and expectations throughout the audit process.
- Help the Audit Partner to present findings and recommendations to clients, clearly explaining audit observations and potential implications for their business.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to support long-term partnerships and business growth.
- Review financial statements, ensuring they align with UK GAAP, IFRS, and other applicable standards.
- Identify and document findings and recommendations, preparing detailed reports for clients and managers.
- Contribute to client insights by highlighting opportunities for financial and operational improvements.
- Supervise audit staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their development and ensure quality work.
- Delegate tasks effectively, balancing workloads and maintaining efficient audit workflows.
- Conduct detailed reviews of work completed by audit team members, offering feedback to support their professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant auditing standards and internal quality procedures.
- Stay current on industry changes and developments in accounting standards, audit regulations, and best practices.
- Participate in internal quality control reviews, contributing to continuous improvement within the audit function.
Qualifications:
Currently hold a relevant recognised professional accounting qualification, preferably ACC or ACCA (or equivalent).
Skills and Experience:
- 4+ years of experience in audit within the UK.
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting frameworks.
- Proven experience managing client engagements and leading audit teams.
- Charity audit experience preferred, but not essential.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- Collaborative team player with leadership potential.
