Our West End office is a market leading media specialist office, and we are passionate about the sector. We work with entrepreneurial businesses from individuals to start-ups and large international groups, including several household names. Our clients are from all areas of the media industry, including advertising agencies, theatre, TV, and film production companies. Our West End team consists of 8 partners and around staff working in audit, accounting, outsourcing, business advisory, tax, and corporate finance, and we all work together to provide our clients with a rounded service to support them at every stage of their business lifecycle.

As part of our growth plans, we are looking for a specialist media manager to support our designated media team to work on and with our media clients and grow our service offering, as part of our strategic plan. This is an exciting time to join as we are growing, and this role will contribute to the strategic vision and growth plans we are working towards. As a media focused outsourcing manager you will be responsible for the operational delivery of our portfolio of clients, working with the team leaders, and delivered by the advisors and digital advisors within the team. Ensuring all our outsourced services are delivered in line with our service level agreements and within budget.

Your role is to strengthen the relationship with the wider media and outsourcing team and seek opportunities to grow our services further through the roll out of sector specific management information and insight, delivered through advisory. You will also support and develop the team, through appraisals and mentoring. A key element of the role will be overall business development of outsourcing services within the media sector.

Key responsibilities
  • Oversee the media specialist business outsourcing team
  • Motivate and encourage the team to build relationships within the West End office and whilst onsite with their clients
  • Review work of team members, coaching on the job, provide impactful feedback to team members
  • Challenge and change old working habits and out of date processes to seamlessly deliver our services
  • Understand client businesses and build relationships with key client contacts
  • Accountable to partners and directors of the teams deliverables
  • Work with the general practice team to ensure appropriate accounting policies are applied and accurate year end reporting is delivered
  • Assist with pitches and proposals for prospective clients
  • Profile actual time versus expected to ensure that there is no scope creep or need for additional fees
  • Regular meetings with clients with the team to ensure we are meeting their expectations
Skills and expertise
  • Demonstrates media sector expertise, in particular marketing and production companies (and associated businesses) including key risks facing the industry
  • Understands revenue recognition policies in media clients
  • Portfolio management - managing expectations and competing demands of clients (including internal reports)
  • Excellent communicator - ability to get on with clients and motivate the team
  • Ability to manage the team to ensure deadlines and budgets are met
  • Ability to recognize the team's individual strengths and areas for improvement by leading appraisals and one-to-ones
  • Competent technical knowledge of Accounting, and VAT matters
  • Collaborates well with others, sharing ideas and knowledge
  • Demonstrates diligence and attention to detail along with being self-motivated to meet the department led strategy
  • Being able to present to internal audiences and prospective clients as to the Outsourcing service offering and opportunities for winning new business
  • Able to generate new fees to existing clients for value added services
