We are looking for a Senior Manager specialising in Employment Tax to join a growing department, working closely with the wider Tax and Legal teams. This person will deal with employment tax advice and complex compliance for a large portfolio of clients, supporting organisations across a broad range of industries.As part of a well‑established and highly regarded team, you will help clients navigate an evolving and increasingly complex regulatory landscape, balancing technical compliance with practical, commercially focused solutions. The role sits within a wider, integrated Employer Services offering, meaning you will work closely with colleagues across payroll, HR, immigration and global mobility to deliver joined‑up advice across the full employee lifecycle.This is a key role within the Employment Tax and Global Mobility department, where you will be highly client‑facing and required to deal credibly and professionally with clients and other professional advisors. As such, excellent technical skills are crucial; equally important is your ability to translate complex tax legislation into clear, practical advice for non‑specialists.You will also be required to lead a team of more junior staff, mentoring them to develop their professional skills and providing technical training where needed. The right candidate will work alongside partners to provide bespoke tax advice to clients, support our payroll specialists, and play an active role in managing client relationships, identifying opportunities and contributing to the continued growth of the team.Key ResponsibilitiesAdvising on all aspects of employment tax including employment status, PAYE obligations, National Insurance contributions, temporary workplace relief etc.Undertaking PAYE health checks and assisting clients with PAYE enquiries from HMRCAdvising on completion of P11Ds, PAYE Settlement Agreements and Short Term Business Visitor reportingDealing with overseas tax queries in conjunction with our international networkReview of expatriate self-assessment tax returns and payroll computationsSupervision of team’s work and answering their queriesDealing with queries from Partners and managers on a daily basisProviding technical support to the firm’s payroll bureauUnderstanding of monthly payroll processingAdvising on taxation of employee share schemes including submission of in-year notifications and end of year reporting to HMRCAssisting development of new businessSkills, Knowledge and ExpertiseCTA qualified with strong employment tax experience, including PAYE, benefits and complianceBroad technical knowledge across employment taxes, including expatriate/global mobility, share schemes and personal taxationExperience dealing with HMRC enquiries and reviews, with confidence managing interactions directlyGood understanding of payroll processes, including monthly payroll operationsExperience working with or advising nonprofit organisations is advantageousStrong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical matters clearly to non-specialistsOrganised, proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to take ownership of work and drive it through to completionA collaborative team player, with experience supporting and working alongside colleagues at different levelsJob BenefitsSalary: Transparent pay framework & promotion opportunities to recognise your contributions and performance.Generous Annual Leave: Enjoy 25 days plus three days off at Christmas.Flexible Working: We're committed to a positive work-life balance, offering a hybrid working policy that prioritises your well-being and flexibility.Comprehensive Wellbeing Support: Private Health Insurance, Access to Digicare+, Employee Assistance Programme, and more!Professional Subscriptions: Invest in your growth and development.Inclusive Employer: Be part of a diverse team with equity, inclusion, and flexibility at the coreFor full details of the role, please download the full job description.DepartmentEmployment TaxEmployment TypePermanent - Full TimeWorkplace typeHybrid
