Through our Level 4 Apprenticeship, you will gain hands‑on experience, develop essential skills, and build the foundation for a successful career within our Business Outsourcing Services team. You will work with businesses across a wide range of sectors, delivering exceptional client service while earning a Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting from the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).
Our Business Outsourcing Services team supports businesses and individuals with their accounting, reporting, compliance and advisory needs. We work with owner‑managed businesses, large corporates, complex groups and individuals managing a wealth portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will support the Business Outsourcing team in servicing existing clients, consistently aiming to exceed expectations and deliver a high standard of service. You will ensure client records are kept up to date and that internal systems and processes are followed. Additionally, you will collaborate with team members to help the team operate as efficiently and effectively as possible.
- Being the point of contact for certain clients, liaising on behalf of appointed advisor/s
- Dealing with client queries, taking the appropriate action to ensure the query is dealt with in a timely and effective manner
- Data processing and utilising technology as much as possible to maintain the bookkeeping records and keep them up to date
- Bank reconciliations
- First draft of bookkeeping and low risk VAT returns for advisor review
- First draft of basic management accounts for advisor review
- Supporting the supplier payment run process
- Attending client sites to carry out the bookkeeping and other services required where necessary
- Monitoring own workflow and assisting colleagues where required
- Liaising with other departments, offices and colleagues in a polite and professional manner
- Building a strong broad knowledge of the services provided by the Outsourcing team
- Developing and maintaining good working relationships with the advisors, colleagues and management in order to provide an efficient and effective service to the advisor and the client, in all available mediums
Your path to qualification
In this role you will be completing a structured two‑year training contract and Level 4 apprenticeship programme, during which time you will study towards the Level 3 and Level 4 AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) professional qualifications. It is designed to give you a strong foundation in accounting while gaining valuable hands‑on experience.
- You will complete 10 AAT exams across key areas such as bookkeeping, financial statements and tax
- You will gain relevant work experience, supported by on‑the‑job learning and guidance from your manager
- You will develop key professional skills through structured training and development
- You will be accountable for maintaining your apprenticeship file
- You will follow a planned schedule of work and study, with regular revision and training sessions leading up to key exams during the year

Eligibility
- To have obtained, or be on track for 112 UCAS points from three A‑Levels, or equivalent qualifications
- You do not need a degree to apply for this apprenticeship. However, if you have a degree in a subject unrelated to accounting or finance (minimum 2:2), you’re still very welcome to apply
- To be permitted to work in the UK, for at least 2 years from the start date of the programme
