Description

We are seeking an experienced Private Client Tax Senior to join our growing Private Client Tax team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in personal tax compliance and advisory work, with experience managing client relationships and delivering high-quality tax services.

As a Tax Senior, you will be responsible for a varied portfolio of private clients, providing personal tax compliance and supporting a range of advisory projects.

You will act as a primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships while delivering tailored advice and practical solutions.

Working with high net worth individuals, partnerships and owner-managed businesses, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across the wider tax practice to provide an integrated and high-quality client experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day requirements of a varied Private Client portfolio, comprising clients with a range of income sources, including employment, investment and business income.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Work with owner‑managed businesses, partnerships and high‑net‑worth individuals.
  • Manage a range of Capital Gains Tax matters across the portfolio.
  • Assist with and deliver ad hoc private client advisory work.
  • Support the delivery of one-off compliance assignments.
  • Attend client meetings and contribute to discussions on tax matters.
  • Propose fees, raise client bills, and regularly monitor WIP and recoverability.
  • Liaise with colleagues across the wider firm, including audit and accounts teams, to support client needs.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • ATT and/or CTA qualified (or actively studying towards CTA).
  • Previous experience managing a personal tax portfolio.
  • Strong knowledge of Self‑Assessment and tax computations.
  • Experience advising on EIS, VCT and SEIS investment reliefs.
  • Knowledge of UK residence and domicile rules preferred.
  • Comfortable researching tax legislation and HMRC guidance.
  • Confident communicator with a proactive, client‑focused approach.
