We’re looking for an experienced Tax Senior to join our growing Private Client Tax team in our City office. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of a varied personal tax portfolio while working closely with Managers, Directors and Partners on both compliance and advisory work. You’ll act as the main point of contact for your clients, building strong relationships and delivering high quality tax solutions across a diverse client base, including high‑net‑worth individuals, owner managed businesses and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a mixed private client portfolio, covering all routine personal tax compliance
- Acting as the primary contact for clients and attending client meetings
- Advising individuals with earned, investment and property income
- Working with owner‑managed businesses, partnerships and high‑net‑worth individuals
- Handling a range of Capital Gains Tax matters
- Assisting with and delivering ad‑hoc private client advisory work
- Liaising with colleagues across the wider firm on client matters
- Proposing fees, raising bills and monitoring WIP and recoverability
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- ATT and/or CTA qualified (or actively studying towards CTA)
- Previous experience managing a personal tax portfolio
- Strong knowledge of Self‑Assessment and tax computations
- Experience advising on EIS, VCT and SEIS investment reliefs
- Knowledge of UK residence and domicile rules preferred
- Comfortable researching tax legislation and HMRC guidance
- Confident communicator with a proactive, client‑focused approach
