Join to apply for the Associate – Real Estate Disputes role at Moore Barlow.
Moore Barlow is currently seeking an Associate (Solicitor or Legal Executive) to join our Real Estate Disputes Team in either Southampton or Guildford.
About Us
Formed via a merger in 2020, Moore Barlow is a leading law firm and we aim to be the best law firm to work for regionally. We are a career firm that provides access to high‑quality work, long‑term career opportunities and an environment built on the premise of being ‘human first’. Progression to Partnership is available for applicants keen to advance. We are featured in the Times’ Best Law Firms 2024 list and consistently achieve recognition for the quality of our services in the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners. With 450 people, including 280 lawyers and 58 partners, we have offices across the South‑East and London.
Real Estate Disputes Team
Our specialist team has received recognition in both the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners for the quality of services they provide. The team works with a wide variety of clients across different sectors, from commercial landlords and developers to private individuals and landowners. We are experts in resolving complex and high‑value disputes relating to property and the use of land, working closely with other teams to achieve the best possible outcomes. The team is led by Anna I C Eceton, who brings experience from large London law firms.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
As an Associate, you will manage your own caseload of mixed commercial and residential property dispute matters, with ample scope to support Partners and Senior Associates on the more complex, higher‑value, and protracted matters handled by the department. You will also play an important role in supporting less‑experienced members of the team as appropriate, including Trainees and Newly Qualified Lawyers. This position offers excellent opportunity for further professional growth and development while enjoying the flexibility and supportive culture at Moore Barlow.
What We Look For
- An academic Solicitor or Legal Executive with prior experience in Real Estate Disputes (Property Litigation), ideally with a mixed caseload involving real‑estate disputes and a keen interest to specialise.
- At least 3 years of post‑qualification experience, although we focus on overall fit rather than PQE alone.
- A calm, proactive approach who can adapt quickly to changing priorities at short notice.
- Strong communication skills, a passion for helping clients achieve their goals and creative thinking.
- A flexible working pattern is acceptable; we offer a hybrid model of working from home and in the office.
Why Apply
If you have the required skills and experience and are keen to advance your career as part of our leading Real Estate Disputes Team, we strongly encourage you to apply. We offer a competitive benefits package including 28 days’ annual leave, private medical insurance, income protection, life assurance, firm‑wide bonus scheme and a generous pension scheme.
