We are seeking a hard-working and dedicated Assistant Kitchen Chef to join our ‘Excellent’ school, helping to deliver healthy, balanced, and delicious meals for our pupils and staff.

Contract: Permanent, all year round
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 2:45pm
Salary: £12.44 per hour
About the Role: You will play a vital role in the smooth running of our school kitchen, supporting the Cook-in-Charge to prepare and serve nutritious meals to a high standard.
- Assisting with the preparation and cooking of food and beverages.
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness at all times.
- Supporting the Cook-in-Charge in delivering meals to the required standard.
- Helping with the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, including dishwashing and cleaning duties.
- Washing up, loading and unloading the dishwasher, and handwashing larger items as needed.
- Assisting with setting up and sanitising lunch tables, including condiments and sauces.
About You: We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in kitchen work and food preparation (essential).
- Knowledgeable about food safety and hygiene standards.
- Reliable, approachable, and flexible, with a positive attitude.
- Keen to learn and undertake further training.
- A qualified First Aider (desirable, but not essential).
You’ll have strong attention to detail, a commitment to teamwork, and a genuine passion for delivering excellent food and service.
