Our inaugural, cutting-edge HD model, Marey, is built on exclusively licensed and owned data for professional use in Hollywood and enterprise applications. Our team is an unprecedented convergence of talent across industries. Our elite AI scientists from Deepmind, Google, Microsoft, Meta & Snap, have decades of collective experience in machine learning and computational creativity. We have also established the first AI-enabled movie studio in Hollywood, filled with accomplished filmmakers and visionary creative talent. We work with the top producers, actors, and filmmakers in Hollywood as well as creative-driven global brands. So far we’ve raised over $100M+ from world-class investors including General Catalyst, Bessemer, Khosla Ventures & YCombinator – and we’re just getting started.
What You’ll Do
- End-to-End Regional Ownership: Act as the go-to People lead for all of Europe. Own HR operations, compliance, and employee experience across the UK and key EU markets
- Strategic Business Partnering: Partner closely with managers in our Data, Research, and AI teams. Provide coaching, people guidance, and support that aligns with Moonvalley’s culture and growth goals.
- HR Administration & Compliance: Lead all regional HR operations including contracts, benefits, immigration, compensation changes, policy development, and legal compliance. Own relationships with local counsel where needed.
- Performance & Development: Support performance review cycles, feedback frameworks, and career pathing. Enable high-performance culture through clear processes and practical manager support.
- Culture & Engagement: Champion belonging, wellbeing, and cultural connection across the region. Help teams stay aligned and inspired in a distributed, async-first environment.
- Recruitment & Employer Branding: Partner with the Talent team on hiring needs across Europe. Contribute to our employer brand and help craft an attractive, differentiated employee value proposition.
- Employee Experience & Team Events: Coordinate onboarding, engagement surveys, and regular team-building events ensuring our people feel supported, seen, and connected across borders.
- Collaboration & Communication: Bridge time zones and functions. Share insights and updates regularly with the broader People team and executive leaders. Operate with sound judgment, even when flying solo.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of broad HR/People experience, with at least 2+ years in a lead-level role
- Proven ability to run HR end-to-end in a distributed, multi-country environment
- In-depth understanding of UK employment law plus working familiarity with broader EU
- Strategic thinker with strong operational chops—you can zoom out and execute
- Experience partnering with technical teams (AI, data, engineering) in high-growth or scale-up settings
- Confidence managing sensitive issues with maturity, discretion, and clarity
- Fluent in navigating ambiguity and building while scaling
- Bonus: experience with async or remote-first cultures; experience with Rippling or Deel
