The team in Tamworth are looking for two Team Leaders with a minimum of 3 years, Team Leader experience in a print production, manufacturing or fulfilment environment. They will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, including inbound (IB), outbound (OB), and the print room, to ensure smooth card production, product flow, quality standards, and customer satisfaction. This role involves leading a team, managing consumables, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimize performance and drive continuous improvement. Reporting to the Shift Manager, the Team Leader plays a key role in maintaining productivity and quality.

The Team Leader directly impacts operational efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction by maintaining smooth operations, minimizing downtime, and implementing improvements. Effective leadership in print, gift, and fabrication production ensures high standards and meets customer expectations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the flow of card production, fabrication, picking, or dispatch of inbound (IB) items, ensuring all process paths are continuously supplied.
  • Plan and allocate staffing to meet daily production demands and Deliver on Time (DOT) requirements.
  • Maintain inventory of consumables and coordinate reorders as needed.
  • Implement and adhere to best practices for operational tidiness and machine maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues promptly and ensure timely repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations within the print room.
  • Facilitate clear communication with Maintenance, Health & Safety (H&S), and Operations teams to proactively address issues.
  • Report operational challenges, proposed solutions, and updates to the Shift Manager.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects aimed at optimizing print room efficiency.
  • Monitor and uphold quality control standards in all print room processes.
  • Ensure that H&S policies and procedures are followed by all employees on the shop floor.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and effectively resolve stock-related issues.

Management and Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate, and develop staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Provide training and guidance on operational processes and safety protocols.
  • Support and encourage team members to reach their full potential within the operational environment.
  • Identify barriers to employee productivity and implement solutions to ensure targets are consistently met.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to report issues effectively.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in workflow management.
  • Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Knowledge of HP printing technology.
  • Higher education in printing technology, logistics, or a related field.

Shift Pattern:

Week One:

In: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday

Off: Thursday, Friday

In: Saturday, Sunday

Week Two:

In: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Shift Times:

Weekdays: 12:00 - 22:00

Weekends: 12:00 - 21:30

There may be a requirement to adjust start and finish times based on operational demands, particularly during peak and off-peak periods. Flexibility and a proactive approach are essential.
