We’re looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our high performing Finance team on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. You’ll be stepping into a key role in our Financial Control team, supporting the Moonpig Finance Manager and leading a team of 2 Financial Accountants. You’ll be responsible for key aspects of our financial statements whilst working with stakeholders across finance and the wider business to help deliver accurate and insightful reporting that helps drive better business performance. This is a great opportunity if you’re a hands-on, qualified accountant with a mix of financial and management accounting experience within a commercial finance team, who enjoys making an impact and thrives in a fast-paced, scale-up environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Taking ownership of key areas of the P&L and balance sheet
- Coordination of month end financial processes across the Financial Control team
- Responsible for insightful management reporting and accurate financial reporting
- Partnering with FP&A and the wider business to understand performance and assist with budgets
- Ensuring a robust financial control environment, and being involved with key parts of our audit
- Looking for ways to improve how we work, from small process tweaks to bigger-picture changes
- Responsible for two direct reports, managing their day-to-day activities and long term development
About you:
- Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent) with ideally 2+ years PQE
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and love getting into the detail
- Quick to understand the business and uses commercial insight and business drivers to explain performance
- Have experience taking ownership of key areas of the P&L
- Confident using Excel and have great communication skills – able to translate finance speak into plain English
- Have a can-do attitude and problem solving mindset
- Show strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high growth environment
- Beneficial if you have experience in tech, e-commerce or retail businesses
- Beneficial if you have previous team management experience
