About the Role: As the Range Planning Manager, you will work as part of the UK commercial management team responsible for delivering range analysis and understanding for all product categories within the UK offer, as well as managing the inventory levels to agreed KPI’s. The goal is to ensure that our product ranges are developed cohesively, delivering against both company and customer expectations. This is a critical role in achieving our strategy of the ultimate gifting companion ensuring that we deliver the perfect card range and most relevant attach for all customer missions in an efficient and profitable way.

What you’ll be Doing:

  • Develop and implement range strategies: You will work closely with the buying and design teams to develop and implement range strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives. Collaborate with the buying team to identify range gaps and suggest solutions that meet customer needs and align with the company's overall strategy.
  • Create range performance dashboards: Understand SKU performance in both sales, profitability as well as in stock turn, profit per impression, etc.
  • Analyse data: Identify trends and opportunities, making recommendations to the buying team to improve sales performance and to identify areas for growth.
  • Market research: Gather and analyse market research to stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences.
  • Monitor and report on performance: Monitor and report on the performance of product ranges, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for change.
  • Using data: Plan the number of SKUs needed for all new ranges giving clear direction of any changes to the core SKUs ensuring stock value is on target and risk is mitigated.
  • Monitor competitor activity: Stay ahead of the curve and ensure that the company is offering products that are both relevant and competitive.
  • Create a dashboard: For continual competitor monitoring both of range depth, pricing strategy and innovation.
  • Complete quarterly range reviews: Sign off by Buying Director and UK GM.
  • Create and manage range review performance: With operations team.
  • Regular analysis: Of the price architecture of the range ensuring this aligns with the customers demands and is delivering our KPI’s.

Manage team: You will manage a team of range planners, providing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure that they are performing to the best of their abilities. You will support their development and focus on their engagement.

Overall, your job as a Range Planning Manager will involve working with multiple teams, analysing sales data, forecasting demand, and collaborating with buying and design teams to develop and execute product ranges that meet customer expectations and drive business growth.

Deep understanding of the online retail landscape and consumer behaviour. Experience in Range Planning or a related discipline. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
