Waste Prevention and Recycling Team Leader
We have an opportunity for a one year Secondment/FTC for the position of Waste Prevention and Recycling Team Leader. The role will build upon the good work of the existing team by continuing to improve recycling rates and prevent waste at every opportunity, including development, implementation and delivery of the Council\’s waste education, communications and outreach programmes.
Your positive can-do attitude will be essential in driving forward engagement and waste prevention projects, as well as promoting other key environmental messages. The role includes collaborating with various stakeholders to improve service outcomes and you will have the opportunity to work with the community and external partnerships including the East London Waste Authority, London, neighbouring boroughs and our internal Neighbourhood and Housing teams.
You will be responsible for identifying, developing and managing targeted campaigns and projects to educate and influence residents about refuse and recycling. These will include the introduction of a tool library with one or more community partners, enhancing our existing offer of clothes swaps and repair cafes for our residents and engaging residents in our upcoming food waste service rollout. This will include recruiting a team of door-knocking staff to engage with residents on their doorstep.
