You're a commercially driven finance professional with a strong FP&A background. You are ready to own the finance function end-to-end at a fast-growing, mission-driven brand. You're confident presenting to boards and managing external accounting partners. Modelling and building the processes and systems that give leadership real financial clarity is where you thrive. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the relationship with external accounting firm and advisors responsible for bookkeeping, payroll, and statutory filings.
- Review and validate financial statements, VAT returns, and compliance submissions prepared by our accounting partner.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial records and adherence to UK accounting standards.
- Coordinate year-end processes and support the preparation of statutory accounts and tax filings.
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead the financial planning cycle including annual budgets, quarterly re-forecasts, and long-term financial planning.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic decision-making and growth planning.
- Analyse financial performance against budget and forecast, providing clear insights, variance analysis and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Deliver commercial insights on revenue, margin, and cost drivers to support operational and strategic decisions.
- Partner with department heads to align financial targets with operational plans.
- Build and maintain detailed cash flow forecasts to ensure adequate liquidity and working capital management.
- Monitor cash inflows and outflows, identifying risks and opportunities to optimise cash position.
- Support fundraising, investment planning, and capital allocation decisions through robust financial modelling including evaluating financing opportunities.
- Develop scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to assess financial resilience under different business conditions.
- Governance & Board Reporting
- Prepare and present monthly management accounts and board reporting packs, including financial performance, KPIs, and strategic insights.
- Ensure financial governance standards are maintained, supporting compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements in the UK.
- Provide clear financial narratives and recommendations to the board and senior stakeholders.
- Support audit processes and maintain robust internal financial controls.
- Design and implement efficient financial processes, systems, and reporting workflows to improve accuracy and scalability.
- Evaluate and optimise our finance technology stack, ensuring integrations across accounting, CRM, and operational systems.
- Develop automated reporting and dashboards to provide real-time financial visibility.
- Continuously improve financial controls, documentation, and operational procedures.
- Credit Control
- Own the end-to-end credit control process, ensuring timely collection from retailers, distributors, and wholesale customers to protect cash flow.
- Set credit limits, run credit checks on new accounts, and monitor the aged debtors ledger, proactively chasing overdue invoices.
- Resolve customer disputes, deductions, and short payments by working closely with sales and operations, escalating where needed.
- Report on DSO, cash collection, and credit risk, while building scalable credit control processes suited to a fast-growing FMCG startup.
Qualifications
- Experience in product-based (FMCG/CPG) is essential.
- Proven experience in a similar finance role, with 4-6 years experience.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills; strong modelling capabilities.
- Experience with AI tools and automation tools (e.g Claude, ApprovalMax, Zapier, Fathom, Pigment, Apron).
- Experience with UK VAT.
- Strong communicator, capable of presenting to senior stakeholders.
- Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.
- Experience in a high-growth, fast-paced consumer brand.
- Familiarity with financial accounting software like Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite or similar.
- You must have a genuine passion for our mission - we are looking for someone with a commercial head but an activist's heart, who can demonstrate their passion for sustainability, menstrual and women's health.
