The Role
The Songwriter will work under the Music Director and alongside the music coordinator to write and produce modern POP songs across multiple projects and brands. The role requires someone with a strong and creative musical mind to write original lyrics, melodies, and produce songs from concept right through to final master, with a specific focus on contemporary girl-pop music styles. This role reports onsite in our London office full time and is a fixed term contract of 4 months.
Responsibilities
- Write and compose original songs including lyrics and full arrangements.
- Utilize Digital Audio Workstations (Logic) to edit, arrange, and compose.
- Edit, tune, and comp vocal tracks, and record vocal guides as needed.
- Work with the team to implement and maintain audio pipelines and strategies.
- Able to collaborate effectively with different teams, including creative, production, brand, etc.
- Incorporate feedback from the music team.
- Contribute to developing the musical identity of new formats/shows/IPs.
- Manage multiple overlapping delivery pipelines, meeting deadlines across all IPs and projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a songwriter and composer.
- Strong understanding of the entire music production process, from conception to completion.
- Strong proficiency in Logic.
- Ability to manage time across multiple deadlines.
- Ability to sing guide vocals.
- Experience with vocal tuning, editing, and mixing.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be a direct member of the performing rights organisation BMI or have willingness to join BMI.
