The Role: Moonbug Entertainment is looking for a Junior Production Accountant as we continue to grow rapidly. Our Studios business is responsible for the creation and production of all our amazing content whether it be on Youtube, Netflix or on the over 100 other platforms. We produce content for bespoke “Originals” for partners such as Amazon, Sky and Netflix and create hours of “Core” content for Youtube and many other platforms. We also create and produce “Third Party Branded” content for other partners where we don’t own the IP. The Junior Production Accountant will be assisting the Head of Studio Finance on all finance matters, including month end reporting. The role is based in Camden, our head office and will work extensively with our LA team where much of our creative team is based.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee processing of invoices and expense claims, to ensure correct coding, allocation to projects and company being invoiced.
- Managing the production petty cash process in the UK and US.
- Working with HR to ensure freelancers have the correct contracts, and that employees are allocated to the relevant projects.
- Improve the controls around approvals of spend, allocation of costs, reporting.
- Produce monthly spend reports as required by the Head of Production.
- Setting monthly spend and cash forecasts.
- Assisting the tax relief/rebate process for the UK and worldwide.
- Working with the Production and Commercial teams in costing proposals.
- Studying towards Accountancy qualifications.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- You are keen, flexible, thorough, with several years’ experience working in a dynamic Finance department.
- You will be articulate, confident, happy to communicate with senior leadership and take direction when required.
- Experience gained in a smaller production company, creative sector or start-up experience will be a huge advantage.
- Proactive, self-starter, willing to get stuck in.
- Attention to detail and being a completer-finisher.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Team player when needed, able to understand the bigger picture and how Finance’s inputs and outputs can affect the business.
- Have enthusiasm in dealing with all functional departments and SMT.
- Able to prioritise in a fast moving, dynamic environment.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Xero experience would be a plus.
