The Role
We\’re seeking a Creative Producer to lead the development and production of shorts and alternative formats. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment and can execute multiple high-quality productions autonomously. You should be a creative problem solver with the ability to research and execute viral trends quickly. Expertise in directing live-action and animation content, budgeting, production management, scheduling, and team leadership is essential, along with a passion for innovation in children’s media.
This role reports to the Senior Executive, Alternative Formats and #shorts.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Direction
- Lead ideation and creative direction for all shorts from the London team, ensuring alignment with brand objectives.
- Provide feedback on scripts, cuts, and all project elements to enhance content quality.
- Direct, produce, and edit specific shorts as needed, including pitching concepts, creating shot lists, sourcing props and backdrops, setting up filming spaces, capturing footage, managing equipment, and executing final edits with music, graphics, and SFX.
- Creatively direct or produce other long-form test formats as required.
Production Management
- Collaborate with the Senior Executive to strategize overall departmental spending and KPIs.
- Oversee the production team and optimize workflows, ensuring all processes are documented.
- Manage final content deliveries to Moonbase/SAN.
- Coordinate with Finance and Legal to contract vendors and team members, and set up systems for collaboration.
- Source and manage vendors, contractors, and crew.
- Maintain accurate budgets, track costs, and ensure financial targets are met (approving spends up to $5,000 per shoot).
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Mentor team members, fostering a solution-oriented environment.
Autonomy & Oversight
- Produce long-form shoots with budgets up to $75,000, reporting over $5,000 line items to the Senior Executive.
- Provide strategic guidance to the team.
- Possess excellent storytelling and creative direction skills, especially in children’s media and digital content.
- Have strong production management experience, including budgeting, negotiations, and crew management.
- Manage ambiguity confidently and adapt as needed.
- Communicate effectively, articulating creative visions and providing constructive feedback.
- Be experienced in YouTube live-action production across all stages.
- Consume YouTube content regularly.
- Be familiar with Adobe Premiere and post-production workflows.
- Manage projects independently while collaborating with senior leadership.
