The Client
Working on behalf of a growing sub-contractor working on projects all over the UK.
The Role
- Looking for an experienced QS to join a growing sub-contractor based in Staffordshire.
 - The role involves responsibility for identifying the costs and managing the budgets of multiple Joinery Based Construction scheme. Besides carrying out day to day QS functions such as take offs, valuing of variations and payment of subcontractor accounts the suitable candidate should be able to provide monthly financial reviews on projects.
 - Suitable candidate must be willing to attend site, to undertake measures, negotiate accounts and liaise with customer representatives and other third parties on commercial issues including agreement of variations.
 - The projects you would be working on are generally around the 200k mark but can be anything up to £2 Million and you would be managing around 5/6 projects at a time.
 
About You
- Strong commercial experience working in a similar role previously.
 - You would be happy to travel, probably once a week to site.
 - Comfortable negotiating, agreeing variations and preparing final accounts with sub/main contractors.
 - Construction experience.
 - Able to manage multiple projects at the one time.
 - Good IT skills in programmes such as Excel.
 
Desirable
- Experience in working for a sub-contractor would be useful, although not a necessity.
 - Joinery / Doorset would also be useful, again not a necessity.
