A growing sub-contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Staffordshire. The role involves:
- Identifying costs and managing budgets for multiple Joinery Based Construction schemes.
- Carrying out day-to-day QS functions such as take-offs, valuing variations, and payment of subcontractor accounts.
- Providing monthly financial reviews on projects.
- Attending site to undertake measures, negotiate accounts, and liaise with customer representatives and other third parties on commercial issues, including agreement of variations.
The projects typically range around £200k but can be up to £2 million, with the candidate managing approximately 5 to 6 projects simultaneously.
About You:
- Strong commercial experience in a similar role.
- Willingness to travel to site, likely once a week.
- Comfortable negotiating, agreeing variations, and preparing final accounts with sub/main contractors.
- Construction experience.
- Able to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Good IT skills, particularly in Excel.
Desirable experience includes working for a sub-contractor and knowledge of Joinery/Doorset, although these are not necessities.
