A well-established specialist joinery subcontractor, delivering high quality internal joinery packages across a wide range of commercial projects. Their work spans timber doorsets, ironmongery, and bespoke joinery solutions for CAT A/B fit-outs in various sectors. With a strong reputation, a loyal client base, and an experienced team, we pride ourselves on delivering reliable, detailed and competitive tenders.

Looking for a Buyer to join our Stoke-on-Trent office, focusing on purchasing materials in line with specification and budgets. The role will preferably suit a buyer with experience in a similar role or with general joinery knowledge.

Key responsibilities:
  • Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure materials purchased are in line with project requirements.
  • Send out enquiries to suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Work closely with design team and delivery team to source best value products in a timely manner.
  • Help further strengthen our Procurement Supply Chain working closely with our Commercial Team of Estimators and Quantity Surveyors.
  • Be prepared to negotiate supplier accounts and discuss issues with materials supplied whilst recording supplier performance and giving appropriate feedback.
  • Set up meetings with suppliers on a regular basis with Key accounts and to broaden WJLs supply chain.
What we’re looking for:
  • Bright, enthusiastic individual that is keen to learn.
  • A genuine interest in construction with a preference for those with some knowledge of carpentry or joinery.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Confident communicator, both written and verbal.
