Looking for a Buyer to join our Stoke-on-Trent office, focusing on purchasing materials in line with specification and budgets. The role will preferably suit a buyer with experience in a similar role or with general joinery knowledge.
Key responsibilities:- Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure materials purchased are in line with project requirements.
- Send out enquiries to suppliers and manufacturers.
- Work closely with design team and delivery team to source best value products in a timely manner.
- Help further strengthen our Procurement Supply Chain working closely with our Commercial Team of Estimators and Quantity Surveyors.
- Be prepared to negotiate supplier accounts and discuss issues with materials supplied whilst recording supplier performance and giving appropriate feedback.
- Set up meetings with suppliers on a regular basis with Key accounts and to broaden WJLs supply chain.
- Bright, enthusiastic individual that is keen to learn.
- A genuine interest in construction with a preference for those with some knowledge of carpentry or joinery.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Confident communicator, both written and verbal.
