About Amplify Education
Our client, Amplify Education, is a bold new multi‑academy trust launching in March 2026 through the thoughtful merger of Cathedral Schools Trust (CST) and Trust in Learning Academies (TiLA). Together, they will serve around 12,000 pupils across 22 schools, spanning nursery, primary, secondary and all‑through settings across Bristol and the wider BS postcode area. Amplify’s mission is clear: to build belief, expand opportunity and strengthen citizenship for every child and young person. Amplify is rooted in the character and diversity of Bristol. While the Trust will be the largest Bristol‑based MAT, each school will retain its own unique identity and community ethos – strengthened, not diluted, through collaboration.
The Opportunity
They are now seeking to appoint two Trustees to join the Board and help shape this major new chapter in Bristol’s educational landscape. Trustees will play a strategic role in stewarding the Trust’s vision, ensuring excellent governance, and providing both challenge and support to the executive team as Amplify grows and evolves. This is a pivotal moment: Trustees will influence long‑term strategy, educational excellence, financial oversight and the Trust’s moral purpose as it sets the standard for equity, creativity and inclusion across the city.
Who We’re Looking For
- Bring strategic insight, independence of thought and strong personal integrity
- Are committed to educational equity, social justice and inclusion
- Can think creatively, exercise sound judgement and participate constructively in Board discussions
- Demonstrate alignment with Amplify’s values: Ambitious, Reflective and Collaborative
- Hold a strong personal commitment to the Nolan Principles
Amplify are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with strong experience in the strategic use of one of the following:
- AI in business
- Senior leadership within a special educational needs (SEN) environment
Individuals who can contribute diverse perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds to reflect the communities we serve. Previous Trustee experience is not required as a full induction and training will be provided.
Why This Role Matters
This is an outstanding opportunity to contribute to the strategic leadership of a Trust designed to transform educational opportunity across Bristol. Trustees will help ensure high‑quality inclusive education, strong pastoral provision, and rich creative experiences for children and young people across all schools. If you share Amplify Education’s belief in the power of education to change lives and communities, we would be delighted to hear from you.
