Southern Brooks is a leading community anchor charity for South Gloucestershire, working since 1988 to empower individuals, strengthen communities, and create a fairer place where everyone can thrive. Through high-quality community development and health and wellbeing services, they support people to achieve what matters to them and build strong, inclusive communities.
They are now seeking to appoint a Trustee to join their friendly, values-driven Board. This voluntary role requires a commitment of around 6–7 hours per month, including Board meetings, subcommittee involvement, preparation time, and occasional representation at events. Trustees play a vital role in ensuring strong governance, setting strategic direction, safeguarding the charity’s assets, and championing Southern Brooks’ mission across the community.
For this role, Southern Brooks is particularly keen to hear from individuals with insight into health, wellbeing, and person-centred care, who can help the Board understand emerging trends, risks, and opportunities across health and social care. You will bring sound judgement, strategic thinking, and the confidence to ask thoughtful, evidence-informed questions that strengthen governance and support high-quality, inclusive services.
This is an outstanding opportunity to contribute your expertise to a respected, community-rooted charity making a tangible difference across South Gloucestershire. You will join a collaborative Board, support a dedicated CEO and team, and help shape the future of a thriving organisation committed to empowerment, wellbeing, and social connection.
