Moog Aircraft Group is looking for an apprentice-trained, experienced CNC Machinist (Turner/Mill-Turn). At Moog, we're focused on the customer and for us, this means designing complex mechanical products that are often bespoke and high-profile. Our Machinists work to exceptionally close tolerance, an essential requirement of the aerospace industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate multiple CNC machines/processes.
  • Perform first-off inspections and complete necessary quality documentation.
  • Capability and competent in setting up and using machine tools.
  • Carry out own 1st off inspection and check/complete the necessary quality documentation.
  • Proven experience in a machine shop environment.
  • Competent in setting up and using machine tools.
  • Confident in using precision measurement equipment.
Key Experience:
  • Recognised engineering apprenticeship.
  • Previous experience in an engineering/manufacturing role, ideally within the aerospace industry.
  • Strong knowledge of machining techniques and appropriate tooling.
  • Proven skills in a multi-axis/complex machining environment.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and process improvement techniques.
  • Proficiency in using relevant inspection techniques/equipment to achieve drawing tolerances.
  • Over 5 years experience on different mill/turn CNC machines (Okuma, Mazak, Lathe, DMG, Matsura, Puma).
Additional Information:
  • This role follows a day shift pattern and may in the future lead to a 6.00am - 2.00pm, 2.00pm - 10.00pm or 10.00pm - 6.00am shift pattern.
  • Candidates must be self-certified and hold a quality stamp after the qualifying period.
  • Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role.
