Moog Aircraft Group is seeking experienced Assembly & Test Technicians to join our team at our Wolverhampton facility. We have opportunities in our Global Sustainment team. At Moog, we focus on the customer, designing complex mechanical products that are often bespoke and high-profile. Our team works to exceptionally close tolerances, an essential requirement of the aerospace industry. Working 37 hours per week; Monday to Thursday 7.30 am – 4.15 pm and Friday 7.30 am – 11.30 am.

Key Responsibilities:

  • For the Global Sustainment (GS) Team:
  • Fault finding and diagnostics of flight-critical actuators that have been returned from service.
  • Completing Strip and rebuild of actuators with new components.
  • Compiling survey reports and requests for new parts.
  • Using measuring equipment such as micrometres, vernier callipers, and height gauges to inspect component parts and re-assess shim calculations.
  • Working from engineering drawings and component maintenance manuals.
  • Completing quality audits and taking responsibility for various aspects of the A&T process, including the release to service of repaired actuators.
  • For the Original Equipment (OE) Team:
    • Assembly and test of flight-critical actuators and subcomponents with high precision and accuracy.
    • Using measuring equipment such as micrometres, vernier callipers, and height gauges to inspect component parts.
    • Working from engineering drawings and component maintenance manuals.
    • Completing quality audits and taking responsibility for various aspects of the A&T process, including the release to service of repaired actuators.

    Key Skills:

    • Apprentice trained (or equivalent level of qualification) ideally within Mechanical Engineering.
    • Proven experience within an engineering/manufacturing role is essential, ideally within aerospace or related industries.
    • Good knowledge of assembly and test manufacturing.
    • Competent in reading and following different set procedures.
    • Experience working within an aerospace quality system is desirable.
    • Dynamic and proactive attitude.

    Security Clearance:

    Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. Please note that in the event that clearance cannot be obtained, you may not be eligible for the role, and/or any offer of employment may be withdrawn on grounds of national security.
