Moog Commercial Aircraft Group is looking for an experienced CNC Setter/Operator specialising in Turning, Cylindrical Grinding and Horizontal Honing. This is a great opportunity for someone ready to take on a challenging but rewarding role. Working a night shift, you’ll play an important part in a high‑performing manufacturing cell, making sure production targets are met and every component meets strict quality standards. You’ll be working in a modern, bright, clean and well‑run shop floor, with real long-term job security.

Shift Pattern: Night shift Monday and Tuesday 8.45pm to 6.15am, Wednesday 9pm to 6.15am and Thursday 9.15pm to 6.30am.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setup and operate a range of CNC machines including a conventional Okuma lathe, Shigiya CNC cylindrical grinder and Sunnen horizontal Honer.
  • Engage in daily problem‑solving and assist in driving enhancements to the manufacturing processes.
  • Carry out inspection checks using a variety of manual and automated metrology equipment.
  • Conduct self-inspections and complete necessary quality audits to obtain self-certification inspection stamps.
  • Work from approved engineering drawings, inspection plans, and shop documentation, accurately recording required data.
  • Adopt and implement lean manufacturing principles in line with Moog’s standards.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on machinery as per company policy.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience setting and operating a range of CNC Lathes, Cylindrical Grinders and Horizontal Honing machines (Okuma lathes preferred but not critical).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to work to extremely tight tolerances and have a perfectionist’s mentality to quality.
  • Proficient in inspecting components with diverse manual and automated metrology equipment to ensure dimensional accuracy.
  • Demonstrate daily problem‑solving skills and overcome challenges through the effective use of your own initiative.
  • The ability to read and interpret a range of different manufacturing drawings for complex components working in both metric and imperial.
