Job Summary
Moog Aircraft Group is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team at our Wolverhampton facility. We focus on designing complex, often bespoke, high-profile mechanical products. Our finishers work to exceptionally close tolerances on complex product lines.
The primary responsibility of this role is to set, operate, and perform specific CNC grinding processes on precision aircraft components, including bores, grooves, diameters, and external and internal features.
Responsibilities Include
- Complete necessary quality audits to obtain self-certification inspection stamp.
- Work from approved documentation, including engineering drawings, inspection plans, shop documentation worksheets, and written instructions such as NC programs, EEIs, EIs, EEPs, EPs, MEPs, etc.
- Inspect own work in accordance with Quality Audit procedures.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Apply lean principles in line with Moog standards.
- Ensure all parts conform to relevant quality standards.
- Work safely and responsibly.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance (TPM) activities on machinery.
- Select appropriate inspection equipment during development processes.
- Collaborate with Process Quality Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering in process development.
Key Skills and Experience
- Relevant apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in an engineering or manufacturing role.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
