Moog Aircraft Group in Wolverhampton is seeking a Planner Buyer to join its Supply Chain team. The Planner Buyer will coordinate and place purchase orders for a designated group of suppliers to meet site operational requirements, support contract administration, and collaborate with strategic sourcing and regional supply chain teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain part‑planning parameters in line with the agreed materials plan input and the latest supplier planning information such as lead time.
- Convert demand signals into purchase orders (PO) in accordance with contractual terms and Moog systems and processes.
- Liaise with the supplier lead in the region to obtain delivery commitments and provide the site with up‑to‑date information.
- Coordinate and feedback site operational requirements to the regional supply chain team.
- Communicate and influence internal site functions such as Goods Inwards and Receiving Inspection (RI) to ensure parts are delivered to the point of use as required.
- Coordinate and support supplier nonconformance and return‑to‑vendor (RTV) processes.
- Work with the site and regional supply chain to resolve delivery, quality or paperwork discrepancies.
- Coordinate with strategic sourcing to ensure contractual terms are operationalized into the integrated planning and placement processes.
- Identify and resolve deviations to contractual terms and conditions with strategic sourcing.
Qualifications
- Minimum education and experience: Bachelor’s degree and >2 years’ experience, or direct co‑op experience. Associate degree and >7 years’ experience. Progressive experience directly related to the position or field with >10 years’ experience.
- Desired qualifications: Certification in Purchasing, Supply Chain or Program Management. APICS or other industry‑standard certifications (plus). Engineering or technical background preferred.
- Good negotiating skills combined with knowledge of procurement processes.
- Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to understand complex regulations and procedures.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, understand priorities, and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
