Moog Aircraft Group is seeking a skilled Machine Shop Operator for our New Product Introduction (NPI) team at the Wolverhampton facility. As a performer culture, Moog empowers people to solve challenging technical tasks and deliver intricate, high‑profile mechanical products to aircraft customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC (Studer S33) grinding machines and perform external grinding of exotic and hardened materials.
  • Set and run multiple machine processes.
  • Carry out and own first‑off inspection, completing the necessary quality documentation.
  • Apply 5S/Lean improvements and support cell lead with process development.
  • Be self‑certified and a quality stamp holder after the qualifying period.
  • Work overtime when requested.

Key Skills and Experience

  • A recognised engineering apprenticeship.
  • Previous experience within an engineering/manufacturing role in the aerospace industry.
  • Good knowledge of machining techniques and appropriate tooling.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and process improvement.
  • Experience with the relevant inspection techniques/equipment and drawing tolerances.
  • Programming experience on Studer CNC grinding machines using StuderWin software.
  • Experience/knowledge of the Superfinishing process.

Requirements

  • Self‑certification, quality stamp holder after the qualifying period, willingness to work overtime, and ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
