Moog Aircraft Group is looking for a Masker / Blaster to join the Special Processing team at our Wolverhampton facility. The role involves preparing aerospace components for heat treatment and plating through masking and blasting techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare components for heat treatment and plating processes, primarily by masking with tapes and other materials.
- Perform occasional blasting using various media as required.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and process specifications.
- Operate within quality standards, including Nadcap and Moog Quality Systems.
- Handle hazardous substances safely, following all chemical HS&E procedures.
- Conduct daily monitoring of equipment and produce test pieces as needed.
- Inspect parts using micrometres, verniers, plug gauges, etc., ensuring specification compliance.
- Support quality investigations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Book parts in and out of the system using Solumina and SAP.
- Carry out de‑masking and stripping tasks as necessary.
- Operate on a shift pattern and be available for overtime when requested.
- Become self‑certified and a quality stamp holder after the qualifying period.
Experience & Skills
- Factory or manufacturing experience (shift work) – Essential.
- Ability to read engineering drawings – Essential.
- Engineering or Aerospace background – Preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, reliable attitude.
- Desirable: Aerospace experience and NVQ Level 3 qualification.
