Moog Aircraft Group is looking for an apprentice trained, experienced Manual / CNC Grinder to join the team at our facility based in Wolverhampton. Our Machinists work to exceptionally close tolerance, an essential requirement of the aerospace industry.
Responsibilities
- Operate, set up and run Manual Studer machines S20/RM250 and CNC Studer S33/S31.
- Machine exotic and hardened materials.
- Carry out first-off inspection and complete necessary quality documentation.
- Perform precision manual land grinding to limits of 0.00005”.
- Set and run multiple machines and processes.
- Work nights and overtime when requested.
Key Skills and Experience
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship.
- Mate grinding experience required.
- Previous experience in an engineering/manufacturing role within the aerospace industry.
- Good knowledge of machining techniques and appropriate tooling.
- Attention to detail, accuracy and process improvement.
- Experience using inspection techniques/equipment to achieve drawing tolerance.
Security Clearance
Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained. If clearance cannot be obtained, the role may be withdrawn on grounds of national security.
