Due to continued growth across our Commercial Aircraft Group, Moog is expanding its Manufacturing Engineering team. Moog Commercial Aircraft Group Tewkesbury is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the development and optimisation of manufacturing processes for complex aerospace components across a range of materials. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with machining and CAD/CAM experience who is looking to further develop their career within a highly regulated aerospace environment. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lean manufacturing processes focused on quality, cost and delivery.
- Create machining processes for complex components with tight tolerances using CAD/CAM software.
- Select cutting tools, design fixtures and produce shop documentation.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including Design for Manufacture (DfM) reviews.
- Lead and support process improvement projects, ensuring minimal downtime within the machine shop.
- Review engineering drawings for manufacturability and recommend design changes to enhance productivity and standardisation.
- Provide technical support to internal stakeholders and manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Operations teams to achieve business objectives.
What We're Looking For
- Essential Experience in manufacturing or process engineering within a precision machining environment.
- 5 Axis Milling and/or Millturn Background.
- CAD/CAM programming experience using Siemens NX, CATIA, Mastercam, Edgecam, FeatureCAM, PartMaker or similar systems.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining processes.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver practical solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Desirable Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical, Production or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent).
- Aerospace, Automotive, defence, medical or other highly regulated manufacturing experience.
- PFMEA experience.
- Siemens NX experience.
- 5 Axis Milling (Okuma MU4000V or equivalent) and Mill turn (Mazak I100, I200 or DMG NTX 1000).
- Knowledge of GD&T principles.
- Exposure to advanced manufacturing processes.
