Moog Aircraft Group Wolverhampton is preparing for additional growth over the coming year and are expanding our Test Systems capability. We are seeking a proactive and technically adept Commissioning Engineer to join our Test Systems team. This position supports a period of high commissioning activity within the Test Systems department. You will collaborate across functions from Actuation Engineering to Supply Chain and play a key role in ensuring Moog's test infrastructure is ready to meet the demands of next-generation aerospace programmes.
You will lead the commissioning of complex, bespoke Test Equipment that supports the Qualification and Production Acceptance testing of Moog's high-performance flight control systems including linear, servo-controlled, high-pressure hydraulic actuators. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in multi-disciplinary environments, enjoy hands-on problem-solving, and are driven by the challenge of delivering precision systems that underpin aerospace excellence.
What you’ll do:
- Lead commissioning activities to deliver Test Equipment on time, on spec, and on budget.
- Oversee and support mechanical and electrical assembly, interfacing with Design Engineering to resolve build issues.
- Drive system integration and formal verification testing, ensuring all requirements are met and documented.
- Coordinate customer validation and correlation testing, including analysis of results.
- Ensure all documentation including verification reports and as-built drawings is complete and released.
- Support calibration procedure development and facility readiness (hydraulic/electrical service integration).
- Deliver end-user training and author user and maintenance manuals.
- Promote and uphold Health & Safety standards throughout all commissioning activities.
What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in aerospace, automotive, or other complex engineering environments.
- Proven experience with Test Systems or Test Equipment commissioning.
- Strong diagnostic skills across hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with Systems Engineering principles, especially Verification and Validation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with DOORS, Subversion/JIRA, Teamcenter, or NX is a plus.
