Manufacturing Engineering Team Lead
Reporting To: Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Work Schedule: Onsite Wolverhampton, GBR
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Team Leader to supervise and manage the resource of our Manufacturing Engineering Team in the day-to-day running of our machine shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Setting and monitoring workload priorities and individual targets.
- Offering guidance on best manufacturing practices while leading the shop floor route cause corrective actions.
- Managing and mentoring the Manufacturing Engineering team, both shop floor and personnel management.
- Supporting personnel actions including performance reviews and coordination of training and development.
- Establishing and delivering lean processes into the manufacturing environment.
- Working with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager in identifying key process improvement projects.
- Creating and supporting the deployment of effective methods and processes based on 3D models for product launch into the manufacturing area.
- Helping establish standard times for each operation ensuring minimisation of the 7 wastes.
- Supporting Manufacturing Engineer(s) / Technician(s) in the creation, review, and approval of gauging, fixtures, and special tooling.
- Providing support and technical assistance to other departments on the facility and, at times, globally.
- Being responsible for shop support resource allocation and direct involvement with any support actions.
Qualifications:
- BSc Degree (vocational, professional, or advanced) or equivalent in the field of Mechanical/Production/Manufacturing Engineering/Leadership.
- Progressive experience (usually post-education) in the field of manufacturing/process engineering.
- Progressive experience (usually post-education) in Lean methodologies and Zero Defects.
- Proven previous knowledge of machining practices.
- Proven leadership/management qualities including 1 to 1 support, development of training plans, and workload resource management.
- Security Clearance: Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role.
