Moog Military Aircraft Group is seeking a skilled, apprentice-trained machinist to join our team in Wolverhampton. At Moog, we prioritize our customers by designing complex, bespoke, and high-profile mechanical products. Our machinists work to exceptionally close tolerances, a critical requirement in the aerospace industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate multiple CNC machines/processes.
- Perform first-off inspections and complete necessary quality documentation.
Key Experience:
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship.
- Previous experience in an engineering/manufacturing role, ideally within the aerospace industry.
- Strong knowledge of machining techniques and appropriate tooling.
- Proven skills in a multi-axis/complex machining environment.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and process improvement techniques.
- Proficiency in using relevant inspection techniques/equipment to achieve drawing tolerances.
- Over 5 years experience on different mill/turn CNC machines (Okuma, Mazak, Lathe, DMG, Matsura, Puma).
Additional Information:
This role follows a day shift pattern and may in the future lead to a double-day shift pattern with overtime as requested. Candidates must be self-certified and hold a quality stamp after the qualifying period. Security Clearance Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. Please note that in the event that clearance cannot be obtained, you may not be eligible for the role, and/or any offer of employment may be withdrawn on grounds of national security.
