Moog is looking for a Planner Buyer to join the Aircraft part of our business at our state-of-the-art facility in Tewkesbury. At Moog, we’re focused on the customer and for us, this means designing complex mechanical products that are often bespoke and high-profile. As the Planner Buyer, you will build on new and existing relationships with suppliers. You’ll be responsible for the coordination and placement of purchase orders for a designated group of suppliers including contract administration and coordination with the strategic sourcing and regional supply chain teams.
As a key member of the team, you’ll have responsibility for the maintenance of part planning parameters and conversion of demand signals into purchase orders. You’ll liaise with Regional Supplier Leads to obtain delivery commitments and will coordinate and feedback on site operational requirements to the regional supply chain team. Your excellent communication skills will ensure you can effectively influence internal site functions, liaise between the Site and Regional supply chain to resolve issues, and coordinate with strategic sourcing to ensure contractual terms and conditions are operationalized and deviations are resolved.
You’ll have worked within a similar industry environment, procuring components which means you’ll understand the necessity of on-time delivery, quality, and cost-efficiency. Key Expertise- Proven experience in the field of manufacturing or engineering (preferably Aerospace) or Supply Chain
- Desired qualifications (or equivalent experience) would include Certification in Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Program Management. APICS or other industry standard certifications are a plus
- A Sound understanding of ERP / MRP / DDMRP-based material control systems is preferable.
- Good negotiating skills, combined with knowledge of procurement processes
- Good communication/influencing/organizational skills, and be able to demonstrate an ability to understand complex regulations/procedures
- You must be able to deal with a variety of tasks at any one time and understand the priorities.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
