We are seeking a reliable and detail-focused individual to join our high performing Logistics department’s “External team”, focus is Goods In/Despatch process tasks, on an afternoon shift. In this role, you will work under the guidance of the function lead and play a key part in ensuring the accurate receipt, inspection, and handling of materials and products, supporting the smooth flow of goods into the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Goods In
- Receiving incoming deliveries and verifying them against purchase orders and delivery documentation
- Inspecting goods for damage, discrepancies, or quality concerns and escalating where required
- Accurately booking materials into the ERP system to maintain stock integrity and traceability
- Processing manufactured materials for shipment against sales orders generating delivery documentation
- Packing goods for shipment ensuring no damage can occur in transit
- Completing the ERP system requirements to maintain stock integrity and traceability, includes other systems for transit, customs compliance and customer ASN needs
- Safely unloading, handling, and transporting materials to appropriate storage or staging areas
- Liaising with internal departments including Logistics internal team, Quality, Manufacturing, and customer admin to ensure efficient material flow
- Supporting quarantine and controlled storage processes where applicable
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards in the Logistics department area
- Strictly following all health and safety guidelines, particularly relating to manual handling and equipment use
Additional Information: This role involves manual lifting and moving of heavy items; correct use of manual handling equipment is essential.
Afternoon Shift: Mon–Thu: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (30-min break, 15 mins paid) Fri: 12:45 PM – 7:15 PM (20-min paid break)
Requirements:
- Clean, full driving licence (company van duties may be required—electric or fossil fuel)
- Counterbalance/high reach forklift truck licence preferred (training provided if required)
- Experience working in a goods-in, warehouse, or logistics environment is advantageous
- Familiarity with ERP systems, carrier software, HMRC export requirements or stock control processes is desirable
- Experience using lifting equipment (e.g. pallet trucks, MEWPs) is beneficial (training provided)
- Willingness to support general Logistics duties, including cleaning and equipment use (full training provided)
